Stop Sexual Abuse... Before It Can Happen

Experts will tell you that the best way to stop child sexual abuse is to prevent it before it can happen. What does that look like? How can you get started? That is what this site is here for.

Barriers To Abuse Prevention

One of the biggest barriers to abuse prevention is lack of awareness and knowledge. Sometimes, people are afraid of discussing the topics involved, or they think they already know enough about the subject. It is not uncommon for people to “ostrich” by choosing to avoid the topics involved in sexual abuse prevention. None of these normal reactions are helpful. Sexual abuse thrives when people do not know who perpetrates it, how it happens, or why people choose to abuse children. Secrecy is the biggest enabler of abuse.

You can take a big step in breaking that secrecy by being one more person who knows the facts about abuse, what to watch for, and where to get more resources. Some sites give you the facts and tell you how to get involved, but hunting down resources can be a challenge because you do not always know what words to use when searching. Here, you can learn what those words are, and what some resources are in a variety of areas related to abuse prevention and getting help.
